It was announced yesterday that Disney has bought Lucasfilm and plans on creating an all new Star Wars trilogy with Episode VII hitting theaters in 2015, followed by a new movie every other year. Once this was announced and we all calmed down a little, the typical fan fare of who would direct the new films, who would star in them, and what they would be about began. Many fans began to speculate that the new series would be an adaptation of Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn Trilogy," a series of novels considered canon by the people at Lucasfilm; however, it doesn't seem that way. E! Online has learned from a source at Lucasfilm that the new films won't be an adaptation of the books. Their source says  "it's an original story." There's still hope...

Air New Zealand has partnered with Weta Workshop to create a Hobbit tie-in safety video for their airline. In the video you'll see all the usual safety tips with a bit of a twist, along with a cameo from a special guest. After watching the video, be sure to go to their website and solve the Elvish code to win one of six double passes to the World Premiere Screening of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in New Zealand on the 28th of November. The winners will also receive a tour of the Hobbiton set, Weta cave visit, and Lord of the Rings tour in Wellington and Queenstown.

The Hollywood Reporter has a brief update on the long-in-the-works Ghostbusters 3 : Any decision on Ghostbusters III, the long, long gestating sequel, has been postponed until the end of March — this after Men in Black 3 writer Etan Cohen was paid a huge sum for a script. Shooting was to begin next summer but now couldn't start before fall at best. A previous report said Ivan Reitman would return to the director's chair. Dan Aykroyd previously confirmed that the plot will revolve around a new generation of Ghostbusters and hinted at the states of his and Harold Ramis' characters. Kurt Russell, Peter Sarsgaard ( Green Lantern ), Richard Jenkins ( The Cabin in the Woods ) and Jennifer Carpenter ("Dexter") have been cast in a new thriller entitled Bone Tomahawk , says Variety . According to the site, the film "follows a sheriff (Russell), a gunslinger, a befuddled oldster (Jenkins) and a cowboy (Sarsgaard) as they attempt to rescue a group of captives (including Carpenter) from a band of cannibalistic troglodytes." S. Craig Zahler will direct the horror-western for Caliber Media.
