Every year, there are new names and faces appearing in major studio movies, and as with many of Ang Lee's previous films, his adaptation of Yann Martel's novel Life of Pi introduces us to one of them, a fantastic young talent named Suraj Sharma, a young man with no previous acting experience until he was cast in the film. Sharma's story is as remarkable as the journey of the character he plays. The film documents Pi surviving a shipwreck to end up adrift at sea with only a large Bengal tiger named Richard Parker as his companion.
