Hosted in and around the San Diego area since its launch in 1970, Comic-Con International has upped their contract with the Californian city and will keep their popular venue through at least 2016. Santee Patch is reporting that the city announced the new deal this morning, extending the current contract by one year and seeking to incorporate planned modifications to the city's convention center to allow for more space during the continually sold-out event. Held at the San Diego Convention center since 1991, Comic-Con has, that that two-decade period, expanded from roughly 15,000 attendees to more than 130,000 during this year's event. Plans for the expansion include an addition 220,150 square feet of exhibit hall space, 101,500 square feet of meeting rooms and 78,470 square...
