Ever since it was first announced that Marc Webb's rebooted Spider-Man universe would begin with Gwen Stacy as Peter Parker's love interest, fans have been wondering exactly how far the character is going to survive given Stacy's infamous demise in the comic book mythos. The recent casting of actress Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson for the 2014 sequel , too, offers the hint that Stacy's departure may come sooner rather than later.
