David O. Russell has signed on to direct the upcoming romantic drama The Ends of the Earth , re-teaming with his Silver Linings Playbook lead Jennifer Lawrence, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter . Lawrence signed on to headline the project last year , starring as Lydie Marland in the true tale. In the film, a powerful oil tycoon, Ernest Marland, loses everything after engaging in a controversial love affair with his adopted daughter Lydie.
