Less than a week after receiving his first Oscar nomination for David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook , actor Bradley Cooper is in the mix to headline the period spy thriller Dark Invasion for Warner Bros., based on Howard Blum's upcoming book about the infiltration of the United States by German spies in 1915. The book will be released this year on September 11. According to Deadline , Warners paid six figures to get the rights to Blum's book as a vehicle for Cooper, who will co-produce the film with John Lesher and Adam Kassan for Le Grisbi.
