Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi is the latest name said to be joining the cast of the upcoming video game adaptation Need for Speed . Deadline reports that the actor (best known as a music producer) will play a racecar driver named Tobey Marshall who races cross-country to get revenge against those who killed his best friend. To be directed by Scott Waugh ( Act of Valor ), the film is an adaptation of EA's popular video game franchise. The screenplay is based on the game series, but is not based on an individual game. The film adaptation will be a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the '70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise.
